3 local school districts looking to raise taxes

Sun-Gazette: Muncy School Board voted 8-0 to raise taxes by 0.75 of a mill, from 14.5 mills to 15.50 mills, in the next school year. Loyalsock Township School Board voted 6-1 in favor of a proposed spending plan for next year that raises the real estate tax millage by 0.25. Montgomery Area School Board approved what will amount to a $48 tax hike for every $100,000 of a home’s assessed value to support the district’s proposed general fund budget for 2017-18.
