Education leaders to discuss school funding

More than 750 school leaders will gather today to discuss an issue vexing districts across the state: the need for a fair and predictable education funding formula.

Using two-way video at 29 Intermediate Unit offices throughout the state, local school leaders will discuss school funding needs and success stories from other states. The event is being hosted by the executive directors of the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators, Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials, Pennsylvania School Boards Association, Pennsylvania Association of Rural and Small Schools and the Pennsylvania Association of Intermediate Units.

Educators will gather locally at the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit in Edinboro from 7 to 8:45 p.m.
